Trump and Kirby Sound the Alarm: Israel is Not Ready for War with Hezbollah

By Elijah J. Magnier:

The phrase ‘Israel will cease to exist’ was first used by the late Imam Khomeini and has never been used outside the circle of leaders of the ‘Axis of Resistance’, a term used to describe a coalition of Iran, Syria and Hezbollah. However, presidential candidate Donald Trump recently shocked everyone by declaring that ‘Israel will not stay and will cease to exist in two years’ if his rival Kamala Harris is elected. It could be argued that Trump used this dramatic phrase for reasons that could be interpreted as purely electoral. However, even the current US administration was sounding the alarm a few days later. National Security Strategic Communications Coordinator Admiral John Kirby warned that ‘the outbreak of a full-scale war with Lebanon would have dire and catastrophic consequences with unpredictable outcomes. War is not a game, and the other party (Hezbollah) cannot be obliterated; Israel could pay a heavy price without achieving its objectives.

So, how might “Israel cease to exist,” as Trump suggested? And what did Kirby mean when warning Tel Aviv of a potential disaster if it wages war on Lebanon?

It has become increasingly clear to Western leaders, as well as to Israel, that the war on the Lebanese front, whatever its intensity, will not end until the war on Gaza is stopped. The resistance movements supporting Palestine have begun preparing their defensive and offensive strategies for 2025, anticipating that the war could continue throughout this year and possibly into next year, according to senior military sources.
