Israel’s Military Future Is Being Built Inside the US Defence System: America Will Be Responsible For Israel’s wars

The United States House of Representatives has passed the $1.1 trillion National Defense Authorization Act by 216 votes to 212, advancing legislation that could transform Israel’s military future. The most consequential provisions do more than facilitate weapons deliveries. They seek to institutionalise technological, industrial and logistical cooperation between Israel and the Pentagon. The legislation has not yet become law. The Senate must adopt its own version, differences between the two chambers must be reconciled, and the final text must receive presidential approval. The National Defense Authorization Act establishes policies and authorises programmes, but the necessary funding must still be provided through the separate appropriations process.

Israel’s battlefields would increasingly function as testing grounds for American military development. Data gathered from confrontations with Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and Ansar Allah could influence the design of future interceptors, sensors, electronic warfare systems and command networks. Lessons obtained during combat could be converted more rapidly into modifications, prototypes and procurement decisions.
