As the Middle East braces for Iran’s anticipated missile strike and potential retaliations from its allies, from Yemen to Lebanon, the United States attempts to temper the situation through a mix of intimidation and enticement. The US is mobilising fleets and air, naval, and land forces while rallying allies and pushing for ceasefire talks. The goal is to convince Israel to heed international calls to prevent the war’s escalation, which continues to cause severe economic and military repercussions. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s objectives diverge from President Joe Biden’s, leading to accusations from within Israel that Netanyahu is evading and undermining negotiations even before they commence on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance stands firm, both politically and militarily, in its defiance against the occupation forces and Netanyahu. Their unwavering belief that neither Netanyahu nor the Israeli military can defeat them or prevent Iran’s retaliatory strike, regardless of the cost, is a testament to their resilience and determination.
