With Donald Trump refusing to disclose the details of the proposals under discussion, and with trust between Washington and Tehran almost entirely absent, Iran is trying to secure within 30 days a deal that ends the war without forcing either side into public humiliation.
Tehran has submitted a 14-point proposal to the United States through Pakistani intermediaries. The document is understood to be a detailed counterproposal to a recent U.S. 9-point framework aimed at ending the 2026 U.S.-Iran conflict, which began with U.S.-Israeli strikes in late February, and moving beyond the fragile ceasefire in place since early April.
