Trump Readies for Major Middle East Conflict if Re-elected, as Netanyahu Awaits His Return

By Elijah J. Magnier:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finds himself in a difficult position to accept any peace deal to end the war in Gaza. Indeed, he cannot end the war without either engaging in a new conflict on another front or delaying and sabotaging ceasefire negotiations, even if he initially agrees to release some of the living Israeli hostages in the first phase of the talks. His main aim is to remain in power until his term ends in October 2026 or call for early elections once he is confident of re-election – all without being held accountable for corruption charges or his failures. To achieve this, he seeks to present “some form of victory” to Israeli society.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump has laid out his vision for the Middle East should he regain the presidency. His roadmap includes all-out war, with full American backing, and territorial expansion by Israel to include neighbouring countries in the region. This American agenda aligns with Netanyahu’s perfect scenario and with Zionist nationalist expansionism. Consequently, the Middle East is unlikely to experience peace until the election of a new US president and beyond this date.
