Hezbollah’s Disarmament Timeline: An Impossible Plan Built on Asymmetry 3/3

By Elijah J. Magnier –

In the previous instalment, we examined the U.S.–Israeli “Barrack Document” — a framework that demands Hezbollah’s dismantlement before resolving border disputes, halting Israeli strikes, or committing to withdrawal.

In this final part, we turn to its operational arm: the so-called “120-day disarmament roadmap.” Presented as a path to stability, it is in fact a strategic ambush. Its sequencing front-loads Lebanon’s concessions, its conditions are unenforceable against Israel, and its assumptions ignore the military realities on the ground. Far from securing peace, this plan risks creating a security vacuum that could push Lebanon toward internal conflict and renewed external aggression.

The so-called 120-day disarmament roadmap presents itself as a path to stability, but is in fact a framework of coercion, imbalance, and dangerous assumptions. Its sequencing ensures that Lebanon dismantles its primary deterrent long before Israel is bound to any enforceable commitments.
