The Danger of Impunity: How Israel’s One Thousand days of War Is Reshaping the Middle East

After one thousand days of war, Israel has discovered that impunity is not victory. It believed it could fight on every front, destroy without limits, kill without accountability and still impose deterrence. The Western community gave Israel that illusion on a golden plate, shielding it politically and diplomatically while it violated the most basic principles of international law. Yet genocide, the destruction of cities and villages, and the punishment of entire populations did not produce the strategic submission Israel expected. Instead, Israel dragged the United States further into its wars, exhausted the credibility of its army and government, and brought to an end the moral narrative it had lived on since the Second World War.
