Israel, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen Are Preparing for a Rolling and Comprehensive War

By: Elijah J. Magnier

“We are facing an open battle on all fronts. A new phase has begun,” said Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, after Israel assassinated the commander of the Al-Aqsa Flood operations—the Lebanese support front since October 8, 2023. But what does this mean? Is it a war that will start in all Lebanese regions inhabited by the environment supporting the resistance, the Muslim Shia, or is it a rolling Middle Eastern war with multiple players, including America and Iran?

Sayyed Nasrallah outlined the next stage, which aligns with Hamas’s demands since October 7 to open all fronts simultaneously. However, launching such a battle at that time would have diverted attention from Palestine and its just cause, potentially bringing the entire NATO alliance, led by America, to unleash a massive retaliation under the pretext of defending Israel.

However, today, nearly ten months later, the situation has evolved. Israel has simultaneously attacked Beirut, Tehran, and Damascus, assassinating the commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah’s support front operations, Sayyed Fouad Shukr, and Hamas’s political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital. Additionally, an Iranian advisor was killed in Syria, and the port of Hodeidah in Yemen was bombed a few days ago. Moreover, America has bombed the Iraqi Popular Mobilisation Forces centres in Baghdad.
